Simon Lopez is a program officer for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Michigan. In this role, he works in the foundation’s priority place of New Mexico to support thriving children, working families and equitable communities.

Lopez focuses on the foundation’s work to improve family economic security in New Mexico. He is responsible for identifying and nurturing partnerships that support equitable economic opportunities for communities in New Mexico, ensuring that low-wage workers, and women and people of color-owned businesses can thrive.

Prior to joining the foundation, Lopez was the chief impact officer for Goodwill of Southern California. At Goodwill of Southern California, Lopez was responsible for ensuring that organizational strategies, values, and resources were mission-aligned and resulted in positive, measurable impacts on families and communities. He oversaw a staff of 225 and a department budget of $23 million. Prior to this, he served as senior director of workforce and leadership development at the National Council of La Raza. Lopez began his career as an employment division manager with Youth Development, Inc.

Lopez holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of New Mexico.
