Sarah Cousineau is the Vice President of Marketing and Community Impact at Central Bank of Kansas City (CBKC). In her role, Sarah oversees all marketing and public relations efforts for the bank while spearheading its community impact initiatives. She leads the bank’s financial literacy programs and community service activities, chairing the Central Bank of KC Cares Committee.

A core mission of CBKC, as a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), is to support economically disadvantaged communities. Sarah actively advances this mission by teaching financial education to various nonprofits, schools, and community organizations. Notably, she managed a team of 12 financial educators for the KCI Workforce Training Program, successfully delivering financial literacy training to over 200 participants in 10 groups across two years.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Sarah is a dedicated volunteer, contributing her time to programs like Lead to Read, Teach Children to Save, and Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City. She also demonstrates her commitment to youth empowerment through initiatives she created, such as the Shark Tank Competition for high school students. Currently, she is organizing the 10th annual Shark Tank Youth Competition, set to take place in Spring 2025.

Sarah has developed other impactful community events, including a Family Game Night at a local daycare and preschool, as well as an annual Health Fair at the bank’s main branch in collaboration with Samuel Rodgers Health Center.

Her leadership extends to serving on the executive committee of Money Matters Alliance (formerly Money Smart KC). Sarah is also an active board member of Don Bosco Centers and the Northeast Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she contributes to the newly formed Steering Committee of the Asset Funders Network (AFN).
