Rebeca Rangel serves as the Bay Area Program Officer for Asset Funders Network (AFN). In this role, Rebeca leads efforts bringing together grantmakers, policymakers, and leading stakeholders to connect and discover best practices, invest in promising interventions, advocate for needed policy changes, support narrative change, and identify actionable roles for philanthropy to advance equitable wealth building and economic mobility nationwide and specifically in the Bay Area Region.

Prior to joining AFN, Rebeca served as a Senior Program Officer at the Y&H Soda Foundation where she initiated the economic justice strategic priority and served as a Bay Area AFN steering committee member. Previously, Rebeca was a Senior Vice President at Bank of the West where she directed the Bank’s philanthropic investments and corporate social responsibility initiatives. Rebeca also served as a Bank of the West Charitable Foundation Trustee, Secretary for the Bank’s Executive Management Committee, and Special Assistant to the Chairman. Additionally, Rebeca has experience as an intermediary grantmaker with the New Americans Campaign at the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.

Rebeca holds a BA in Urban Studies from Stanford University, a MPP from Harvard Kennedy School, and a JD from Northwestern School of Law. Her immigrant parents have been her greatest teachers. She currently resides in Orinda, California.
