Rachel is originally from Boston and has lived in the Seattle area for over 30 years.  She worked in non-profit administration with a focus on services to children, youth, and families before making the transition to grantmaking.  As the grandchild of immigrants, Rachel is proud to support SYL Foundation’s efforts to create an inclusive and just society that provides equitable access to basic human rights for all. Her grantmaking practice focuses on trust-based strategies and centering community voice and knowledge. Rachel attended Harvard-Radcliffe College and received a Master of Public Policy degree from the Goldman School at the University of
California at Berkeley.
