Katie Sirakos serves as the San Antonio Area AFN Program Officer. In this role, Katie supports the San Antonio Area AFN efforts to extend economic opportunity to all San Antonians.
Prior to joining AFN, Katie worked in the nonprofit sector for 13+ years, consulting on matters related to strategy, communications, and fundraising. For the last four years, Katie has run Spark Storytelling, a communications and fundraising consultancy specializing in advancing the rights of unhoused people and people with disabilities.
She serves as the City Council District 7 Commissioner on the City of San Antonio’s Small Business Advisory Commission and recently served on the board of Pay It Forward, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people in recovery reestablish their lives. Katie is passionate about bringing groups of stakeholders together around a common vision, and distilling this vision into messages that drive action.
Katie received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from North Carolina State University and a Master’s in Public Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill. She lives in San Antonio with her partner, daughter, and a growing group of pets.
