Kate Debold has broad professional experience drawing from the private and non-profit sectors, with more than 15 years in the field of philanthropy including her current position as Vice President, Philanthropy and Corporate Social Responsibility at BNY Mellon. In this capacity, Kate oversees the development and management of a domestic portfolio encompassing regional, national and international agencies aligned with business strategy and administered through the BNY Mellon Foundation. Separately, she serves as Secretary of the Board of the Foundation. Kate is also responsible for BNY Mellon’s Disaster Relief grant funding. Additionally, she functions in a consulting role for Wealth Management on a separate portfolio targeting social services, education, and health/medical issues.
Previously, Kate was the founding Executive Director of The MIRACLE Foundation. During her tenure, the foundation successfully raised critical funding in support of the establishment of a regional state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility at Mercy Medical Center (Long Island). Earlier in her career, Kate gained invaluable experience at The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation working in multiple program areas as well as on foundation administration.
Kate has been an engaged volunteer, advisory board member and council member with a number of nonprofits, and currently serves on the board of 3Q Innovation. In addition, she provides pro bono advisory services to the Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance. Previously, also served as a mentor with the Heyman Center Mentoring Program. Separately, she served as a mentor with Philanthropy New York’s Young Leaders Breakfast Club, a formal mentoring program for emerging professionals within the field.
Kate is a graduate of Villanova University and is actively pursuing an Executive M.P.A. at Syracuse University. She also completed the Leadership Development Program at Columbia Business School’s Institute for Not-for-Profit Management. In addition, she received certification from New York University’s Center for Philanthropy & Fundraising. And is a scholarship recipient of the Rauch Foundation
