Julian Huerta is the Vice President of Community Programs at St. David’s Foundation, one of the largest health foundations in the United States, funding over $80 million annually in a five-county area surrounding Austin, Texas. Julian develops, implements, and supports the Foundation’s portfolio of direct service programs, including the St. David’s Foundation Mobile Dental Program and Neal Kocurek Scholarship for students pursuing careers in health professions–two of the largest examples of such initiatives in the country.
Julian previously served as Deputy Executive Director at Foundation Communities, Central Texas’ largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing with supportive services, where he led the development and implementation of health, education, and financial stability programs for more than 40,000 families.
Julian is active in several community initiatives and currently serves as chair of the Board of Directors at RAISE Texas, a statewide organization that promotes financial security and economic mobility for low- and moderate-income Texans. He also serves as a member of the Community Advisory Council for the Humanities Institute at the University of Texas at Austin.
Julian received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Incarnate Word, and he has also completed the NeighborWorks Achieving Excellence Program at Harvard University, an 18-month executive education program for leaders in the field of community development.
