Jo Christine Miles is director of Principal Community Relations® and the Principal Financial Group Foundation, Inc. (Principal Foundation ®), leading the organization’s philanthropic initiatives. In this role, Miles oversees the breadth of efforts at Principal® and Principal Foundation to strengthen communities around the world through grantmaking, employee and match giving, volunteerism, and sponsorships.
Prior to joining Principal® in October 2020, Miles served as public policy fellow for Philanthropy New York, where her work focused on equitable and inclusive philanthropy, gender equity, health, and international grantmaking. Prior to that, Miles had a successful 15-year career practicing corporate restructuring law and providing pro bono representation to low-income women.
