Jennifer Farland is Communications Director for the Asset Funders Network. Throughout her career has been an effective catalyst for strategic communications and event/program management. Her career spans over 15 years and includes stints as a press secretary on Capitol Hill, on-air television news reporter and public relations consulting. In her role with AFN, she will be providing the full range of communications guidance and project management to ensure the funders issue briefs are presented and that AFN delivers on its value proposition for funders.
Jennifer is the founder of ENGAGE – j.farland consulting, where she works with a variety of clients to help solve challenges and seek new opportunities to expand current situations through message development, communications, project management and events.
Jennifer was recently the Director of Community Relations at Fannie Mae where she was responsible for developing and leading the company’s efforts on maximizing the impact their employees’ resources on meeting the company’s mission and overseeing the execution of the company’s flagship community outreach program, Help the Homeless, raising over $85 million for homeless service providers. Prior to her appointment to Director of Community Relations, Jennifer was the Director of Regional Management and Housing Partnerships where she oversaw and managed the events of 50+ satellite offices across the country and directed several initiatives that involved 1) developing public-private partnerships to expand the availability of mortgage funds and catalyze community investment in underserved markets; and 2) raising awareness of the initiatives through ongoing public affairs and media outreach activities.
