Based in Austin, Texas, Taylor brings a highly organized and enthusiastic manner to her work. In her current position at United Way for Greater Austin, she leads teams committed to fighting poverty in the Greater Austin community. She has worked throughout her career to improve educational, health and social conditions. Most recently she was Community Benefit Director for Ascension Texas, leading efforts to improve the impact of hospital programming in the community and growing the networks grant portfolio. Prior to that, she consulted for over 15 years on a variety of projects, from board governance and leadership training to leading unique community-based initiatives to resolving organizational challenges and management differences among collaborators. Taylor creates individualized plans to meet the goals of organizations and leaders, and guides them to establish benchmarks and targeted goals to ensure sustainability and continuity for their mission and/or cause.
Taylor has worked at the federal, state and local level, and was elected to the Austin School Board, serving as vice-president for two years of her term. She has also served on a number of non-profit boards in Austin, Texas.
Taylor and her husband James are partners in a mezcal business launched in Austin with ties to Oaxaca, Mexico.
