Hong Ly is the Controller for Asset Funders Network (AFN). In this role, Hong manages fiscal operations and budgeting for the organization.

Before AFN, Hong worked for over two decades in mission-based organizations dedicated to community building and economic development. She began her career as an Americorps’ VISTA in Lowell, MA advancing economic security for women and youth through financial literacy and asset-building programs. She continued her work uplifting the power of residents and grassroots solutions working as a housing developer at Urban Edge CDC, in Roxbury, MA. Most recently, she led nonprofit finance and operations at Grounded Solutions Network, a national housing intermediary and Essie Justice Group, a nonprofit organizing women with incarcerated loved ones to end mass incarceration.

Hong holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Boston University, with a concentration in Public and Nonprofit Management. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Carleton College. Hong resides in Berkeley, California with her family.
