Elizabeth (Liz) Brister is the manager of Entergy’s low income customer assistance initiative. In this role, she oversees programs that provide bill payment assistance and other tools and resources to help low-income customers become more self-sufficient. Prior to this role, she served as the external affairs manager of Entergy Mississippi. Brister also spent many years working in the nonprofit sector and remains actively engaged on nonprofit boards.

Brister received a Bachelor of Science in Management from Tulane University in New Orleans. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. In 2005, she was awarded a fellowship to Harvard University’s Social Enterprise Initiative where she received a certificate for completing the Governing for Nonprofit Excellence course. She was recently accepted into the Public Affairs Council’s certificate program in public affairs management and is completing its requirements.

Brister serves on the steering committee of the Arkansas Asset Funders Network. She also serves on the board of the National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition and is the past chair of the Mississippi Center for Nonprofits. She is capital campaign co-chair of the Women’s Foundation of Mississippi. Brister is a 2012 graduate of Leadership Mississippi and was recently recognized as one of the state’s 50 Leading Businesswomen by the Mississippi Business Journal.
