Christopher Rios joined Wells Fargo in 2022 and is currently serving as Regional Vice President of Social Impact and Sustainability for Central and West Texas markets. He oversees non-profit partnerships and bank initiatives that focus on the Wells Fargo Foundation’s strategic pillars of Affordable Housing, Small Business Growth, Financial Empowerment, and Environmental Sustainability.
Active in the community, he has served in various non-profit leadership roles for the Central Texas region. Christopher is currently Treasurer and Past-Chair of CommUnityCare Health Centers (CUC), Travis county’s largest public health care system whose mission is to provide quality primary and specialty health care services to the underserved population of the community. He is also Past Chairman of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC), which provides resources to small, minority owned businesses in Central, TX. He is also a proud board member of the Thinkery Children’s Museum of Austin, the Austin Film Society, and an Advisory Board Member of Huston Tillotson University’s School of Business and Technology.
Christopher was selected by community peers and leaders as the winner of the 2019 Austin Under 40 Award in Civics, Government, and Public Affairs. He has also been recognized for his contributions to the Austin community by receiving the 2015 Distinguished Young Leader Award from the Young Hispanic Professional Association of Austin.
A native of Laredo, TX, Christopher is a proud graduate of the Red McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and is also a proud 2011 graduate of Hispanic Austin Leadership. He, his wife Rachel, and their son Max live in Pflugerville, TX. In his spare time, Christopher enjoys pursuing his passion as a world ranked competitive axe thrower with the International Axe Throwing Federation (IATF).
