Before AFN, he spent his early career at start-up and small nonprofits working within arts, culture, and grassroots movements to create impact for marginalized communities. Carlos worked as a member of the founding team of the International African American Museum, an arts and genealogy center in South Carolina. He also worked as a fundraiser with Latinx communities across the U.S. to provide political education and community organization. His skills and history in development are defined by years of working with donors of all backgrounds including foundations, corporations, small businesses, youth, and elected officials.
Carlos received his Bachelor of Economics from the College of Charleston and resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
