Carla Molina is head of U.S. local market external communications at Bank of America. In this role, she is responsible for leading external communications across the 93 media markets in the U.S. where Bank of America does business, including communicating how the bank is improving financial lives and driving responsible growth with key external audiences. Her focus is on protecting and enhancing the company’s reputation. Molina also serves as the primary Hispanic spokesperson for Bank of America, sharing the company’s newsworthy stories with Spanish-language media and spearheads the bank’s Hispanic public relations efforts.

Additionally, Molina serves as the Austin Market Executive whereby she is responsible for development and execution of the market plan, designed to drive market share growth, employee engagement and corporate reputation. In Austin, she is responsible for overseeing the bank’s community partnerships, sponsorships and philanthropy.

Prior to this role, Molina was the communications executive for Consumer & Small business at Bank of America. In this role, she lead internal and external communications for the bank’s approximately 4,200 financial centers, call centers, and digital banking, as well as the full suite of financial products and services the bank offers its 67 million consumer and small business clients. Prior to leading communications for Consumer & Small Business, she was the Retail Banking communications executive and led communications for various high-impact initiatives, including streamlining the entire consumer product suite and positioning the bank’s digital banking platform as the unmatched industry leader, with nearly 41 million active users, including approximately 33 million mobile users.

In 2016, Molina was named “Top 40 Under 40” in her industry by PRWeek and she has been featured in national publications, including Hispanic Executive. Her work has been recognized nationally, having been awarded a Silver Anvil for “Integrated Communications in Consumer Services” by the Public Relations Society of America and an award for “Best in Corporate Branding” by PRWeek in 2017, among many other awards from PRSA and other industry organizations over the past two decades.

Before joining Bank of America, Molina held leadership positions at Lopez Negrete Communications, where she directed communications efforts on behalf of Visa, Wal-Mart, Geico, Tyson Foods, Bank of America and other clients. She was also a business analyst at Reliant Energy prior to her role in communications.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Molina is a member, mentor and leader within several of Bank of America’s employee networks, including LEAD for Women and HOLA, and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America. She is active in her community and provides thought-leadership to organizations including the Austin Community Foundation and St. Edward’s University. She resides in Austin, Texas with her husband.
