Barbara Ankamah Burford is the Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Impact for Wells Fargo, overseeing philanthropy for the greater San Antonio Market and ensuring Wells Fargo supports impactful non-profit work in the areas of financial health, sustainability, small business growth and housing affordability. She has over 20+ years of experience administering programs that support small businesses, workforce initiatives, first-time homebuyers, affordable housing, and neighborhood engagement. Barbara began her career as the Vice President of Business Development for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Barbara then spent 15 years with the City of San Antonio working in various departments such as the Economic Development Department, where she guided the partnership efforts with various economic development cohorts at the local, state, and regional levels to maximize education and training resources which resulted in job growth and workforce viability for San Antonio residents. Barbara also held leadership roles in the Neighborhood & Housing Services Department where she successfully managed federally funded housing programs and supported the delivery of the City’s affordable housing goals and neighborhood engagement goals.
