What would investment in communities look like if those very communities were part of the process?
In partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Transform Finance released a new report Grassroots Community Engaged Investments: Redistributing power over investment processes as the key to fostering equitable outcomes. The report makes the case for grassroots engagement, participation, and governance over investments.
The report highlights GCEI as a core strategy that has been gaining traction in regards to strengthening community development and mission-aligned investment. We offer an analysis of the current state of community engagement in investment, profile several investment projects that provide opportunities for meaningful community input, decision-making and/or ownership over the deployment of capital and provide insights and recommendations for its continued growth.
