Carolinas Regional Funder Exchange: Asset Ownership and Financial Access to Advance Economic Mobility and Generational Wealth Building
Asset ownership and expanding financial access are essential to advancing economic mobility and equitable wealth building. Join the Carolinas Asset Funders Network virtual funder exchange and briefing to learn more about local and cross regional efforts underway to support these intersectional strategies.
Ownership of land, homes and other forms of property are primary building blocks of wealth for current and future generations. Yet, for people who inherited their land and homes from family members, these assets—called heirs’ properties—are at risk. The impacts of heirs’ property on homeowners and communities impact the financial and housing stability of families, generational wealth transfers, as well as community and neighborhood resilience.
Additionally, funders will participate in a collaborative ecosystem scan to understand the state of access to financial services, identify barriers and opportunities to enhance equitable access, and explore solutions to improve financial well-being and economic stability.
Together, we will highlight intersectional grantmaking strategies and identify opportunities for collaboration within our regional chapter and beyond.
Audience: This session is open to funders, financial institutions, CDFIs, credit unions with focus on the Carolinas region.
