California Guaranteed Income Pooled Fund Launch Briefing

Bay Area Asset Funders Network in partnership with The Office of the Governor and California Department of Social Service (CDSS), Economic Security Project, Mayors for a Guaranteed Income, and Social Finance, invite funders to learn about the exciting progress of the Guaranteed Income Pooled Fund.

In 2021, the State of California launched the first ever statewide GI pilot, providing $35MM to fund GI pilots across the state with the ultimate goal of advancing learning and longer-term policy solutions around GI and cash–based supports. California’s philanthropic community also played a critical role in providing additional funding support to the Guaranteed Income Pooled Fund pilot programs. As of this summer, all seven Guaranteed Income pilot programs have successfully launched!

Join us to hear CDSS Director Kim Johnson share reflections on this milestone. GI Pooled Fund partners will also share their perspectives on the current state of the GI field and early learnings from the pilots. Funders will have the opportunity to ask panelist questions following the discussion.
