Attendees at the fall 2015 North Texas Funder’s Forum participated in an important conversation about a new framework for supporting the financial security of low income and working families. All too often, financial education is not enough to empower low income families to take control of their financial lives. Few organizations have the expertise, support, or resources alone to confront this challenge.

The approach by the Forum included leveraging a comprehensive “ecosystem” which included a range of direct services, capacity building, and advocacy services. This approach has proven results; the financial security ecosystem brings “faster, better, cheaper” outcomes to all partners.

Mae Watson Grote, of the Financial Clinic, presented on A New Framework for Financial Security at the North Texas Funder’s Forum. The forum was hosted by the Community Foundation of North Texas, The Miles Foundation, and United Way of Tarrant County.
