Sydney Diavua is the Director of Community Development Engagement at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. In her role, she is responsible for promoting community and economic development as well as fair and equal access to credit across the Eighth Federal Reserve District. Previously, she led community development outreach as a community engagement advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Before joining the Federal Reserve System, Diavua was a program officer at Innovations in Civic Participation, an international nonprofit that focused on advocacy, research, and leadership training in the areas of youth civic participation and national service. She also worked for the Aspen Institute Roundtable on Community Change as a program associate covering issues in comprehensive community change and racial equity and the National Democratic Institute on the Citizen Participation team.

Diavua has a master’s degree in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Spelman College.
