Mr. Briggs is a community development professional with over 30 years of diversified experience in the financial services industry. Responsibilities during his career included financial analysis of asset backed securities, analyzing and assessing risk of community development investments and loans, and evaluating the community
impact & financial profitability of Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) investment portfolios.
Currently, Mr. Briggs is a Vice President within the Philanthropy & Community Impact Group at Wells Fargo. In this capacity he manages the strategic allocation of Wells Fargo’s philanthropic resources in Pennsylvania and Delaware. Identifying impactful and measurable investment opportunities that align with Wells Fargo’s philanthropic priorities. He also cultivates and manages strategic relationships with mission driven nonprofit organizations whose goal is to make a tangible impact within the communities they serve. He also leads Wells Fargo’s Pennsylvania and Delaware Public Affairs Council and provides support to Wells Fargo’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) initiatives.
Mr. Briggs serves as a member of the city of Philadelphia’s Mayor Business Roundtable. He is an active member of Philadelphia and Delaware based nonprofit boards and advisory committees that includes the Regional Foundation, REACH Riverside Development Corp., Philadelphia LISC, and Philadelphia Association of CDC’s. Prior to relocating to the Philadelphia area in 2016, Mr. Briggs managed Wells Fargo’s Community Development efforts in the Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC markets, where he also served as president of the Metro Washington Bankers Group.
Mr. Briggs holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Delaware State College, (now Delaware State University – DSU) and currently serves on DSU’s College of Business Advisory Board.
