Sara Kleinpeter is the Senior Public Affairs Officer at Entergy, Louisiana, responsible for corporate social responsibility initiatives, community and stakeholder outreach, and volunteer initiative support/coordination. She joins the company with prior experience in community engagement, fundraising, volunteerism, and state and local government.
Before joining Entergy, she was the Executive Director of Development & Fundraising Operations at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (FranU). Prior to that role, she was the Coordinator of Board Services for Louisiana’s Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) for nearly ten years. A Louisiana State University Alumnus with a Master of Education degree and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, she began her professional career as a Middle School Special Education Teacher with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System before joining the staff of Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco as the Assistant Director of Scheduling.
Sara is a member of the 2018 Class of Leadership Baton Rouge, the 2019 Class of Leadership Louisiana, and the 2021 CHANGEmakers Cohort. Sara is a Ph.D. student at LSU with a research focus on generational differences in the motivation to volunteer and how that impacts the leadership of an organization. She anticipates graduating in May 2025.
Kleinpeter is Panhellenic Advisor for the Sigma Chapter of Delta Zeta at LSU and a parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She also volunteers for the Bella Bowman Foundation (Mary Poppins) and serves on the Pennington YMCA Board, the YMCA Golf Committee, and the Leadership Baton Rouge Alumni Board.
