Sam Spiewak is the Program Officer for the Opportunity Youth Workforce Development Initiative at the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. The Initiative works in four geographies – New Orleans, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and Mombasa – to reduce youth disconnection and to advance its vision that all young people achieve economic self-sufficiency and well-being. In support of this mission, Sam develops a portfolio of grants, monitors and assess grantee outcomes, builds partnerships with the public and private sectors, and develops strategies that advance the Foundation’s strategic goals. Prior to joining the Hilton Foundation, Sam led programming at the Stanford University Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society, a leading academic research center for scholars and leaders. He holds a M.S. in journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a B.A. in Literature, Language, and Culture from Antioch College.
