Malcolm McClain (he/him) is Program Director, Housing at the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. In this role, he manages a statewide portfolio of partnerships working to close the racial wealth gap in New Jersey by providing pathways to safe and affordable housing and homeownership. Prior to joining Dodge, Malcolm served as Director of Urban Agriculture & Food Initiatives at Greater Newark Conservancy, a Newark-based nonprofit that fosters collaboration at the intersections of environmental, food, and racial justice to promote the health and wellbeing of Newark residents. At the Conservancy, Malcolm led programming and administration related to community engagement, urban agriculture, and neighborhood and citywide food access. He has secured and stewarded private and public funding to develop new farmers’ markets in the city and connected local farmers, residents, and organizations with resources to expand the city’s food production and distribution infrastructure.

Malcolm holds a master’s and bachelor’s in sociology from Lehigh University and Muhlenberg College. He is trained as a stage manager and has been a lifelong participate in and advocate for the arts. Malcolm is a proud fourth generation resident of Newark, NJ, where he currently resides in the city’s West Ward.
