Lisa Kawahara is the Grants Administrator for the Friedman Family Foundation where she works to direct the Foundation’s mission to support economic development programs that attempt to create systemic change. The Foundation funds programs that help the economically underserved create wealth and financial stability, policy efforts that create financial equity and innovative anti-poverty strategies.

Lisa also works as Special Assistant for Prosperity Now (formerly CFED). Prosperity Now works to ensure everyone has a clear path to financial stability, wealth and prosperity. They offer a unique combination of scalable practical solutions, in-depth research and proven policy solutions, all aimed at building wealth for those who need it most.

Prior, she consulted with a variety of nonprofit community organizations and foundations in the San Francisco Bay Area, including a women’s microenterprise development organization, the Older Women’s League and Levi Strauss Foundation.

Lisa served as Co-Chair of the Bay Area Asset Funder’s Network and currently serves the Mad Hatter’s Network of Northern California Grantmakers. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Bay Area Women’s and Children’s Center. She received her AA in Business Management and then furthered her studies in Liberal Arts at New College in San Francisco.
