J.R. is the president and CEO of First Federal Bank of Kansas City, the largest independent depositor-owned community bank headquartered in Missouri. He is a Kansas City native and a graduate of Park University in Parkville, MO. He has spent his entire professional career in the community banking space in and around the Kansas City metro. He is passionate about accomplishing the banks mission of improving the financial wellbeing of all and the impact home ownership can have on that journey.

J.R. has served two terms on the Mutual Savings Association Advisory Committee to Office of the Comptroller of Currency. He serves on the Mutual Institutions Council as well as the Government Relations Committee of the American Bankers Association. J.R. is a past Chairman and member of the board of directors for the Missouri Bankers  association. He is a board member of the Missouri Bankers Foundation and a current board member of Mutuals Matter Association, an organization created to promote the many benefits Mutual Banks provide to their communities.

Through his leadership roles at The Summit Church in Lee’s Summit where he and his family attend and through service to various non-profits in Kansas City J.R. actively gives of his time, talents and resources to make Kansas City better.
