Dora Zapata is Director of Community Impact and Investing at Capital One.  Previously she was Vice President and Community Development Manager for Wells Fargo in the Dallas, Fort Worth, Central and Border Texas Markets. She provided oversight and direction to Wells Fargo leadership on CRA related initiatives in addition to building external relationships with nonprofits entities and local officials.

Dora has been in the financial services industry for 18 years. Prior to joining the Wells Fargo team, Dora worked for Citi’s Community Mortgage Lending group where she managed the achievement of CRA, Fair Lending and Mortgage Lending goals for Texas. She has also worked for Lehman Brothers/Neuberger Berman as a Wholesale Sales Assistant and with JPMorgan Chase as a Marketing Officer.

She is a certified NeighborWorks counselor, licensed banker (Series 7 & 66 – expired), and a graduate of the University of Texas – Arlington with a BBA in International Business. She currently chairs the Hispanic Scholarship Fund Texas Advisory Board, serves on the LiftFund North Texas Advisory Board, the University of Texas at Arlington Hispanic Advisory Council, the Real Estate Council’s Community Fund Board, the Impact Dallas Capital Board, and the Dallas Development Fund Board. She also joined the Board of Directors of Children’s Health in 2018. She is a 2014 alum of the Leadership Dallas program a past member of the Mayor’s Star Council, and a member of the Hispanic 100

Dora is a native of the Rio Grande Valley and has resided in Dallas for 20 years. She lives with her husband, Juan, and three sons, Andres, Isaac, Juan Sebastian, and daughter Natalia Anahi.
