Philanthropy’s Role in Supporting the Intersection of Immigrant Rights and Housing in Silicon Valley
Please join us for a special briefing on this intersection, designed for donors, advisors, and grantmakers.
During the briefing, we’ll examine how efforts for immigrant rights support the immigrant community, undocumented neighbors, and people experiencing homelessness alike. Participants will also learn about efforts underway to serve our neighbors who are undocumented or unhoused and discuss how funders can support immigrant rights as an important part of advancing housing justice in San Mateo and Santa Clara. More than one million residents of these counties are foreign born, and 47% of these are not US citizens.
Speakers will include:
Zelica Rodriguez-Deams, Sobrato Philanthropies
Amanda Andere, Funders Together to End Homelessness
Victoria Rodarte, Northern California Grantmakers
Alison Kamhi, Immigrant Legal Resource Center
Lorena Melgarejo, Faith in Action Bay Area
Katrina Logan, Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto
This briefing is co-sponsored by Bay Area Asset Funders Network, California Homelessness & Housing Policy Funders Network, Northern California Grantmakers, the Grove Foundation, Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, Funders Together to End Homelessness, and United Coalition for Immigrant Services.
