A practical introduction to ownership strategies that help California communities stay rooted, build wealth, and shape local economic futures.
Community leaders and funders across California are increasingly looking for ways to build community wealth in ways that also rebuild community power. Co-hosted by Asset Funders Network California and TFN’s Smart Growth California, this webinar is an introduction to community ownership and control of assets—land, housing, businesses, commercial space, and worker-owned enterprises—and the through-line of community control that connects them.
The webinar is designed as a 101 for funders, using key entry points into a broader conversation about ownership, control, and benefit: who owns assets, who makes decisions, and how economic value stays rooted in communities. Speakers will share what these strategies look like on the ground and what philanthropy is learning about timelines, risk, capacity, and impact.
