Membership and Grants Manager
Kristin Rennels serves as the Membership and Grants Manager for Asset Funders Network, helping identify, develop, and maintain relationships with funders to advance AFN’s mission and impact, and also manages the organization’s grants.
Kristin is an advocate and leader in the nonprofit sector with over a decade of experience in fundraising, grant writing, Board management, and event planning.
Previously, Kristin was the Manager of Development and Communications at The Chicago Public Education Fund, where she led the organization’s fundraising and communications efforts. In her role there, she managed a $16-million fundraising campaign to further the organization’s mission to provide all children in Chicago with a world-class education. Prior to The Chicago Education Fund, Kristin worked at University of Arizona Foundation as a member of the development and donor services team. As the Assistant Director of Scholarship Stewardship, she focused on building and maintaining relationships with individual donors, community organizations, and foundations interested in supporting student scholarships.
Kristin is also an Instructor at the University of Illinois in Chicago teaching courses in the Certificate in Nonprofit Management Program, and serves on the Board of Directors for Inspire Girls Academy. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Service from DePaul University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Ball State University in Indiana. She lives in Chicago and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and watching the Cubs and Blackhawks.
